As usual, the State legislatures and various city councils has a busy year regulating the economy. Since 2009, the federal minimum wage has been $7.25. Our chart shows city-by-city the minimum wage breakdown for 2019 and any increase for 2020. Please note this chart only reflects CA local or city requirements and other states may vary.

**The following cities minimum wage has had no increase from 2019. However, they are different from the regular California minimum wage.

Tip Pooling: Employers in the 9th Circuit, which includes California, may not require to coerce employees who customarily receive tips to share those tips with those who do not, such as “back of house” employees like kitchen workers, managers, and janitors.
